Waste management
We all know that cleanliness is an integral part of quality of life. To keep our communities clean, we must all act in ways that preserve the health of our environment. Responsible waste management also has a positive impact on the environment.
When it comes to waste, our purchasing habits and daily behavior should take into account three rules of conduct: Reduce, Recycle, Revalue! The new communal waste management regulations that came into force on January 1, 2015 are based on this principle, but want to give greater importance to the polluter-pays principle. This should encourage Roeserbann residents to recycle as much waste as possible.
Sorting before disposal
Shrub cuttings collection
Branches and shrub cuttings are collected 8 times a year. Packaging for collection is defined as follows: the maximum diameter accepted is 10 centimetres and the maximum length accepted is three metres. The maximum volume cannot exceed 2 cubic meters.Waste electrical equipment and refrigeration appliances
C.I.G.L. Roeser will transport your old electrical and electronic equipment and refrigeration appliances to the STEP recycling center in Bettembourg/Dudelange. This service can be ordered from C.I.G.L. Roeser (Tel. ) and will be invoiced at €35 per transport.Bulky waste
Bulky waste refers to all solid household waste whose dimensions do not allow it to be collected using the same containers as those used for household waste, and which must therefore be specially collected. The municipal administration offers a service for taking bulky waste and materials that are difficult to transport to the recycling park. You'll find the exact dates in the ecological calendar distributed at the beginning of the year. To have your bulky waste collected, you must notify the Commune at least 2 weeks in advance. A simple phone call will suffice. The following will be collected during bulky waste collection:- Treated or untreated wood waste,
- Scrap metal such as pipes, sheet metal, bicycle frames, drying racks, umbrellas, etc.
- Bulky items such as mattresses, sofas, etc.
Green, brown, blue, grey: 4 colors to remember for your sorting
Green garbage can = Biowaste
By removing organic waste (food, plants, weeds etc.), the household bin can be relieved of around 45% of waste. To prevent fermentation of fresh grass clippings, let them air-dry a little before placing them in the green garbage can. For households with a garden, it's clear that a composter, which transforms organic waste into valuable fertilizer in an environmentally-friendly way, is a sensible choice.Alternative: compost silo.

Brown garbage can = used glass
You can dispose of hollow glass such as bottles, glasses and jars in the brown garbage can. Do not dispose of flat glass, mirrors, ceramics or porcelain in the brown garbage can.Blue garbage can = Waste paper
In the blue garbage can you can dispose of paper such as sheets, catalogs, brochures, newspapers, notebooks, etc., as well as cardboard and cardboard packaging. Do not dispose of wallpaper, paper soiled with oil, paint or foodstuffs, waxed or plastic-coated paper, binders, etc. in the blue garbage can.Grey garbage can = Household waste
It's important not to throw recyclables in the garbage cans, as these can be taken to the recycling park for reclamation. Please remember that the lid of the garbage can must be closed and that no bags should be placed next to the container.Valorlux
The commune of Roeser is part of the Valorlux blue bag collection scheme. Packaging waste (PMC) is collected every two weeks. Valorlux blue bag collection is entirely free of charge, and Valorlux bags are available from the communal administration reception desk.
