School teaching
General information
Primary school consists of four learning cycles. Cycle 1 comprises one year of early education and two years of pre-school education. Every child who has reached the age of three on 1 September can be admitted to an early education class. Attendance at the early education programme is voluntary. Attendance of the subsequent years of cycle 1 (pre-school education) and cycles 2-4 (primary education) is compulsory. Every child living in Luxembourg who has reached the age of four before 1 September must attend school. This obligation extends over twelve consecutive years from the first September of the year in question.
School transport is provided by the municipal administration. The information sheet De Schoulbuet 2024/2025which contains all the necessary information about the school organisation, is published annually at the beginning of September.
