Residential parking

Parking permit

In streets or on parkings reserved for residents, the "vignette de stationnement réservée aux résidents" (residents' parking permit) entitles the holder to park free of charge for an unlimited period, as indicated on the sub-headings of traffic signs. These sign subheadings must include the words "weekdays 8am-6pm except 3 or 4 hours except residents with permit". If only a time slot and an exception are indicated in the sign subheadings, the resident must also display a parking disc. This generally applies to parking lots.

Residents can still park without a permit, provided they use a parking disc and respect the time limits indicated.

Who is entitled to a residential parking permit?

Only residents of a sector subject to residential parking regulations may apply for a permit.
Any owner or holder of a car registered in his or her name and entered in the commune's population register at an address located in the sector of public roads subject to residential parking may apply for such a permit. The number of permits is limited to 2 per household. They are available in the form of permanent and temporary permits.

The permit is valid only in the respective sector of the owner of the permit.

Permanent permit

Parking permitEach household in the residential parking zone is entitled to a maximum of two permanent permits, with a maximum of two registrations on a single permit. Permanent permits are valid for one year from the date of issue, and are renewed if the conditions for obtaining them persist. Both permits are free of charge.

Temporary permit

A temporary permit may be issued to members of households residing in the residential parking zone if they are using a temporary replacement for a car (repair/overhaul) for which a permanent permit is valid, and if they own one or more foreign-registered cars and have duly applied for a permanent permit. This free permit is issued for an appropriate period, but for a maximum of 6 months.

General information about the permit

  • All requests must be accompanied by a copy of the vehicle registration document and any other supporting documents.

  • If the address on the vehicle registration document is not yet the same as the Roeser address, a change of address can be made at the "Biergerzenter" if you bring back the yellow card as well as the vehicle registration document.
  • No registration number may appear on more than one permit.
  • Permits are only valid in the municipality of Roeser and in the area indicated there.

  • In the event of changes, the old permit must be returned to the local authority, together with the necessary documents and information.

  • The loss or theft of a permit must be reported to the commune as soon as possible.

  • In the event of relocation or transfer of the vehicle shown on the permit, the latter must be returned to the commune without delay.

  • A copy of the leasing or rental contract (private) issued in your name, or a certificate of private use from your employer for a company car made available to you, must be enclosed.
